Realm of Goryo: Baptism

Cities have been destroyed and recovery is far from over. Millions have been left voiceless in a world that is leaving them behind. Kaiju once held back in Japan are beginning to spread out across the world, and new dangers are rising in Mu, aiding the fuel for insurrection. The remaining Mighty Men are enlisted to hold back the threat while a new solution is found. Ishikawa Yumi joins the mission in space to collect the next great kaiju defense from alien allies. But while in the stars she embarks on a search to uncover one of The Cabinet's greatest mysteries. Allowed to stay in Japan, Noah Sato tries to keep his head down as he looks for a way to please his former master, Satori, and learn more about his own family's secrets. Meanwhile, Cassandra Weathers finds herself sidelined. Her life has stalled and only her avoidance of the future keeps her going. And a new power is on the move, as the lost and desperate people of the world look toward a new savior, the devastating kaiju, Horus.

The setting is a futuristic world where giant monsters (known as Kaiju) have overrun civilization. Like the Godzilla, King Kong and Pacific Rim franchises, this fits it in well with the genre with giant battles and defense measures by the people. Fun, easy read. 5 stars.
